Edited by A Tigerstorm: 9/12/2016 2:43:52 AMI challenge you to finding out if the taken are actually slaves to oryx instead of having what they want. Are they just souls lost to the darkness? Just mindless monsters forced to suffer for all time? Everything from their ingame models and animations to their grimoire cards should help with that.

Edited by Fal Chavam: 9/12/2016 2:52:09 AMIn order to be enslaved, Oryx Exploits their greatest fears to take their will by offering a blade in the shape of a solution to their greatest fear. This involves the manipulation of "shapes", as these "blades" make ideas/concepts into tangible powers.

Edited by A Tigerstorm: 9/12/2016 2:59:23 AMThat's present in the grimore cards...okay.. But what about after oryxs death when they have no central mind? Does their will return like it had with say Keksis the betrayed?
-
The more powerful ones will somewhat regain their will. Though it will pretty much be entirely lost again to anyone who claims the taken throne.
-
Okay that makes more sense than what I've come up with. And still it just scares me that those that are taken, might still be alive and trying to regain their will from whatever mind controls the taken. Just them in enteral suffering is terrifying.

Edited by Fal Chavam: 9/12/2016 3:04:26 AMIt's kinda funny though, because the taken grow more powerful from pain and suffering.

That's....Jesus oryx was one messed up asshole then.
