Ahamkara still exist. If you go to Venus, they can be seen flying around in the sky, as already mentioned. There is also an Ahamkara skeleton on the moon (also already mentioned) that gives credence to their appearance.
They are also a very prevalent part of the story. First, they are most likely the servants of Darkness that gave the Hive their power. This is evidenced by their description in the Grimoire and the way that it tempts Auryx and her sisters.
Also, the Ahamkara are thought to be the whispers that led Dregden Got into the Darkness. He is thought to have been Pahanin, based on the fact that he was always talking to himself (like how the Ahamkara gear items are supposed talk to you) and some other evidence from the Grimoire.
All in all, they're bound to be an important future part of the game.

No those aren't ahamkaras in the sky. They were hunted to extinction by the guardians. They once were great wish granting dragons but the price was too high. We sure slayed them.

Edited by Rhulk Kicked Me To Orbit: 9/4/2016 5:02:28 PMWhere do I start? First, the things that are flying on Venus are called Batadactyles,a completely different species from the Ahamakara. Second, the things that led the hive were the Worm Gods, which might be related to Ahamkara. Third, they balance the Light And Dark, and are not servants of the Darkness. Fourth,Dredgen Yor was not Pahanin.

Ok. You're right on the first bit. Not so sure about them balancing Light and Dark, but whatever. On the Dregden Got bit, see this thread. It's an interesting read and makes a compeling argument about Dregden Yor's identity.
