Brexit Is Actually Boosting The UK Economy
Two months ago, the world’s wise men were warning that if UK voters decided to “Brexit” from the European Union, they’d rain down economic crisis. Guess what? Today, Britain is fine — and has even seen a boost from its “Leave” vote. The International Monetary Fund, central-bank chiefs, academic economists — you know, the people who study the economy for a living — said Brexit would be a disaster.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/2016/08/29/brexit_is_actually_boosting_the_uk_economy_390201.html

It's probably because they're not out of the EU yet. Also lmao realclearpolitics, the thinly veiled conservative propaganda machine.

      • You know all that aside, we haven't left the E.U, and we still may not leave. The referendum was held to get public opinion, the government still needs to invoke article 50 of the Lisbon treaty, which it hasn't yet. So technically it's staying in the E.U has boosted our economy.

        • Let's wait until they're actually out of the EU before we start saying who's actually right and wrong.

              • Well 1) we're not out yet so we still have access to the single market 2) the pound? Hello? Stuff is now more expensive 3) a lot of people on both sides of the argument were exaggerating yes

              • The UK isn't even out yet, and it's likely we haven't even begun to see the proper effects of leaving. Part of my job involves buying from abroad and let me tell you - things have gotten a whole lot more expensive lately behind the scenes. I imagine it's only a matter of time before these increases are passed on to consumers.

That is a pretty poor article. The UK hasn't even left the EU yet and all of the catastrophic predictions were based on Cameron's promise that they would trigger article 50 the day after the referendum. The incredibly hot summer, excellent weather and low pound is what helped the economy, while the general consensus appears to be that we'll be seeing the damage in the near future. Inflation is up, the Bank of England has been forced to adopt a massive stimulus package and drastically cut interest rates to the lowest they have been in 300 years in order to help the economy, permanent job openings are falling, import and manufacturing prices are up, housing is down and both consumer and business confidence are estimated to be decreasing. If anything, the only thing this article illustrates is that the referendum (just the vote, not the actual Brexit) hasn't had terrible consequences for the short term economy. It tells us nothing about the actual Brexit, which is still ages away, or the medium term economic damage.

I have question why are you posting page that at top clearly states OPINION. Yes now that we have that clear. The funny thing about brexiters looking for "cultural protection" didnt win jack if they are to trade they have to accept the immigration part. Immigration changed policy 0% all brexit will do is make them lose its advantaged place but sure throw opinion pieces in to justify
