Speaking of Ahamkara, is that one of their skulls on Shaax's table?
English
-
Batadactyl? Those draconic like creature in Venus maybe...
-
Unless it's a Fallen skull, I'm inclined to agree with you.
-
Doesn't look fallen to me, the snout is too long.
-
True, although we don't exactly know what Fallen look like beneath their masks..Dreg don't give us a particularly good idea, and the others' faces are completely covered by ether masks.
-
But you can get a general idea. Plus, it has horns. Do fallen even have horns? I know that Skolas has them, but is that just a helmet? Even if they are his own, they look totally different from the skull on the table.
-
I don't think the Vanguard would allow the Shaxx to leave a Ahamkara skull within the vicinity of Guardians, let alone the Vanguard. Keep in mind, even their remains still interact with their user from what we're told.
-
Then what is that thing on his desk?
-
It could be the skull of just a creature that was killed. I'm just saying, that according to lore, the Ahamakara can still communicate and cause hallucinations with Guardians, even after their physical body is killed. In my opinion, it just doesn't seem right that the Vanguard would allow one so close by. But now that I'm thinking about it, why do they allow our Guardians to wear such armor then? Better yet, do they know of said "hallucinations" or communication? Or just the bearer itself?
-
Yeah, I don't know. What kind of effects would it even have? Positive? Negative? Shaax does lose his -blam!-ing mind when you do well in the crucible. Ahamkara high?
-
At this point, we can only speculate. The Ahamkara have been told to turn Guardians "mad" , similar to how Toland went mad. But, the Ahamkara were also known as "Wish Dragons" amongst the Guardians. What kind of wishes? More power? More knowledge of the Darkness? We don't know because the Vanguard was ordered to wipe them out. But, the interesting thing is this. Only Warlocks were ordered to take out the big, mature Ahamkara. Since their relevance to the Void itself, the Warlocks were the only ones mentally able to withstand the Ahamkara. As some people have already stated, the Hunters were tasked with taking out the younger ones. We see this in relation to the Young Ahamkara Spines. Titans, sadly, were excluded for the most part, due to their nature of protecting the City and her walls. Me? I don't think the Ahamkara are gone. Not all of them at least. A part of me believes that they deceived the Guardians into believing they had killed them all off. A trick, or hallucination so to speak. Yes, Ahamkara were killed. That's a fact, but with how vast the Universe is and what lies beyond our System itself. I do not think we've seen the last of the Ahamkara. I'm also just a huge fan of the lore around Ahamkara. Probably my favorite next to the Iron Lords/Iron Wolves. So, I have a slightly biased opinion to their return.
