Eris actually talks with the Queen in a grimoire card, with Uldren watching. I think he would have noticed Eris or Mara talk to herself in two different personalities.

 • I've lost track of how many times I've had to say this now. Did you people both reading anything I wrote? Oryx destroys the awoken fleet, finds a dying Mara Sov, strips her of her essence, sends her back in time through the collapsed timeflow in the Vault of Glass, and this Mara Sov is now in the past and under the will of Oryx. She calls herself Eris Morn. Fast forward some years, Eris Morn is talking to Mara Sov. If I sent you back in time to an hour before you were born, and then you waited 20 years, you would be able to interact with a young adult version of yourself.

 • But, we have seen both Eris and Mara together, plotting to take down Oryx. In fact, if it weren't for Eris' help, we wouldn't have made it to Regicide, and eventually, King's Fall. If Eris were under Oryx's control, she wouldn't have sent us on a mission to kill her master.

 • Have you never heard of double deceptions, or double agents? They're a really common trope in shows and movies. You think they helped the good guys beat the bad guys, but it turns out they didn't and either the bad guy that was beaten was just a pawn in a bigger scheme, or he wasn't beaten at all and it just seemed that way. Did the ending to TTK raid really make it seem like Oryx was dead to you? Because to me, I've learned well enough that unless you physically see the person die, they're not dead. Hell sometimes you even see them die and theyre still not dead - another very common trope. Even in the world of Destiny, what happens when you beat someone? They get engulfed by some sort of fire and "burn away" - every other Raid boss has been shown to be dead, their bodies consumed and gone. Meanwhile Oryx just floats away. Why was his death different than other raid bosses thus far? Why didn't his body "burn up" and die, as had Crota's?

 • Because Touch of Malice. Oryx lives within our gun.
