I just recently started playing it and found it pretty hard to get used to it. I've played Dark souls and Dark souls 3 but for some reason found this game really weird to get used to.

Yes! Exactly the same for me!

I can never seem to time my rolls just right and always take damage from the attacks. Also I hate how long it takes to drink estus. I like the lifegems though.

Edited by Asher H2O: 8/23/2016 7:19:24 PMI might as well just stand there rather than roll, it almost never works for me. But I guess increasing Adaptability increases iFrames. Mine's only at 7. I also hate how long it takes to drink estus and regain health. Lifegems definitely are great though.

Stupid adaptability. Why does this exist. It's not a stat you really don't need like luck. You need to put points into this. Also what build are you going for?
-
An attempt to make the game harder, I suppose? A strength build. Big ol greatswords and such. I mix it up with some dex weapons though.
-
Also I don't get the whole soul memory thing. Is it just me?
-
Soul memory is a stupid level bracket. Most people are around 10 mil. You can wear the agape ring to stop soul memory from increasing.

I'm going for a sorcery build.
-
You know, I've heard sorcery/magic in general is considered to be OP in DS2.
-
Some spells are OP as -blam!-, especially dark bead. A lot of fags like to bait you in and one-shot you with it. Homing crystal soulmass will do a ton of damage and so will crystal soul spear. The problem with the magic system in this and ds1 is that you can use spells as many times as you want as long as you have 50 copies of them. And with bonfire ascetics you can farm these spells. Just get hotwheels to open up the portal when you see him 3 times and kill the shades there that have a decent drop rate.
-
:( too bad I'm not a mage
-
That's why I'm going for a sorcery build. In the other dark souls games I went for a pyromancy build. Seeing as I don't know how to get the pyromancy flame and there's no pyromancy starting class, I decided to try something different. Also durability is a big issue. Weapons break way too fast.
-
Smart move. It seems durability has only ever mattered in DS2...
-
Leveling is also so easy.
-
The leveling is significantly faster to account for having more stats to split your points into, and to open up the possibilities for mixed builds. Soul memory is just a total of how many souls you have ever gained, in vanilla ds2 it determined pvp matchmaking and summoning range. In SOTFS its no longer the only factor.
-
Heck yeah.

What level are you?
