  • history lesson: when the ancients surveyed the land to build a new city, they massively -blam!-ed up and made New Orleans in a bowl that was under sea level. levees are the only thing keeping it dry. this isn't new orleans flooding again, ist is parts of the state that never have flooded before being flooded, entire counties worth of people without warning, without food, without shelter.

  • When people decided to settle in New Orleans the only thing they cared about was the fact that the Mississippi River hit the ocean. A little thing like being below sea level didn't change the fact it was pride real estate for trading and shipping. Just say.
