A van flew in the hangar of the Alamo.
It landed in a hangar near the front of the ship, setting down peacefully.
As it landed, the side door slid open and Management stepped out. He yelled back inside the van.
"Brave! Set up!"
Management hit a button on the back of the van, and a canopy expanded on the sliding door's side. It went out about 5 metres before stopping.
He pulled a rug out of the van and rolled it along the ground. It covered the entire span of the canopy.
He plugged in a cord hanging from the canopy and a strand of lights lit up.
Afterwards, he hung a golden helix sign.
"Welp."
He fluttered his wings.
"Open for business!"
Open.
A male robot stood in the middle of the hangar with a hint of confusion as his head darted around. The bot had some variation of the m14 on its back, several different types of grenades on its front belt, and some sort of secondary on the hip. The bot spots the van and decides to walk towards the owners. "Hello."
-
Management turns to look at the robot. "Hoooool-eee crap you are old tech!" Management says, stepping back a bit.
-
"Old? Oh, yeah the jacket is very old from what I can tell. I can guarantee that my parts are still very advanced and unique. I'm the only one of my kind because those who made me seemed to have dissipated."
-
Management laughed. "Only one of your kind-- ha! You're funny." Management looked at him. "Oh, you're serious." Management hid a grin. "Anyway, do you want to look around?"
-
No, he is. They are actually others that look like him, but he's still one of a kind for unknown reasons.
"Only way you'd think there's more than one of me is if you can travel between universes. Can you? That's very fascinating if you can!"
-
Management looked around, slightly nervous. "Oh, come on! Parallel universes don't exist..." "Now, want to see our stock?"
-
"Yes, they do...in a way. My friend Bror described and showed them to me once, but he didn't make much sense. Also, I'd be delighted to see what you have on stock."
-
"Then come in!"
-
The robot walks into the store and looks around. The robot has an expression of curiosity and seems intrigued. ".....I have no idea what most of this is."
-
"Well, then what do you want?" Management placed his hand on the middle row of shelves. It glowed a bright yellow, and it dimmed until a completely new stock of items appeared. "Could you use some..." Management looked him up and down. "Newer... parts?"
-
"No, my parts work together in a way that makes it impossible to upgrade in anyway. Or...so Bror said. Maybe you have some interesting marksmen rifles? I actually do need some sort of close quarters weapon."
-
Management remembered his time as a robot. "Well, look at this special snowflake..." He whispered to himself. He placed his hand back on the shelf and the stock changed again. This time, an assortment of weapons and weapon attachments sat there. "Pick some things out. Build-a-deadly-firearm." Management's tone had become more sarcastic.
-
"Now that I think about it, do you have any fascinating knives or swords or hatchets?"
-
Management's eyes lowered and he sighed. "Yeah, we have anything. You tap the shelf this time. Try it out."
-
He taps the shelf and a bunch of bladed weapons come out. "Oh, cool. Anything you suggest?"
-
"Well, we do have..." Management reached to grab a small handle. "This!"
-
"Cool....What is it?"
-
The blade extended about three feet away, then extending two curving blades. Suddenly, Management did an impressive display. He threw the axe into a wall, where it stuck. "That."
-
"Cool....What can it cut through? What is it made of? What's the cost?"
-
"I'm not done yet." Management pulled the axe from the wall. It ignited, and he swung it around some more. He went outside and kicked a large metal pole in the air. As it fell, he spun and sliced it in half. "Titanium. 150 Credits."
-
"I can give you 145."
-
"No."
-
"....How well does it go through hardlight shields?"
-
"It's five credits. And nothing passes through hard light, you should know that."
-
"I mean can it break the shields, you should know what I mean."
