I've had five LDRs drop and nothing but armor since the april update.

Yeah I think the system has a glitch sometimes (shocking I know). I will get the same thing for 5 or 6 level-ups and it will be the same thing. I'll switch characters and it'll keep happening. I have so many zombie apocalypses/marks right now.
