Well, good to hear about them bringing Thorn back before I pre-ordered RoI. I quit playing because of Thorn in Year One, and I guess I'll have to quit again. Thank God for Halo. edit - and yes, I really stopped playing for six months because of Thorn, this time I won't be back.

That gun sucks. Anyone that uses that gun sucks. Whoever designed that gun sucks and whoever decided to bring it back should be fired. I have never hated anything in any game I have ever played as much as I hate Thorn and the people that use it. edit - as bad as this game has gotten over the last year, I always thought "Well, at least there's no Thorn." Now, that mother-blam!-ing piece of crap is coming back. And I swear to God, I will never give Bungie one more cent of my money again as long as I live.

  • I'm seriously contemplating deleting my characters and uninstalling the game as I type this.

  • Do it. Delete all your characters, you're never playing again anyway so why not? If you can't deal with Thorn in its current state you are just not good, that's all. At this point it's just another hand cannon. Nothing special about it but it's looks.

  • Film it, you great big baby. The community is better off without children like you anyways.

  • No the "community" was better off without a huge PvP crutch like Thorn ruining the game.

  •
Introducing...the Scrub The derogatory term “scrub” means several different things. One definition is someone (especially a game player) who is not good at something (especially a game). By this definition, we all start out as scrubs, and there is certainly no shame in that. I mean the term differently, though. A scrub is a player who is handicapped by self-imposed rules that the game knows nothing about. A scrub does not play to win. Now, everyone begins as a poor player—it takes time to learn a game to get to a point where you know what you’re doing. There is the mistaken notion, though, that by merely continuing to play or “learn” the game, one can become a top player. In reality, the “scrub” has many more mental obstacles to overcome than anything actually going on during the game. The scrub has lost the game even before it starts. He’s lost the game even before deciding which game to play. His problem? He does not play to win.
http://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/introducingthe-scrub git gud scrub.

That's pretty impressive coming from someone who's highest character is 320. edit - my 9 year old daughter has made it to 321 by the way.

  • sigh..... I'm sure your daughter works 50-60 hours a week too. I noticed you didn't bring up KD ELO or any of those other things I have better stats then you on ....... my light level has no bearing on your inability to adapt and overcome strategic encounters, and outthink your opponent in a FPS.
