I think its weighted more towards Y1 weapons you don't have but don't take my word for it.

  • Legacy Engrams ALWAYS give a Y1 weapon/armor, based on the type of engram. They ALWAYS give you a Y1 exotic (of that type) that you don't own - IF it can, otherwise it's a random Y1 exotic (of that type).

  • My gut feeling is it will favour Y1 weapons, but tempted to try it. Definitely want to buy that Supercell today though and hoping the engram would give me Hard Light or Monte Carlo. Dilemma is I have the marks but not the coins to buy Zhalo, Three Of Coins and an Engram.

  • Legacy Engrams ALWAYS are Y1 weapons/armor. They ALWAYS try to give you something you don't own from Y1, if it can - otherwise, it's a random Y1 drop. For example, let's say you never got the Hawkmoon from Y1 and that was the only primary exotic left you needed to collect from Y1 - the primary legacy engram would give you a Y1 Hawkmoon, guaranteed. As a second example, let's say you still need a Y1 Suros, Monte Carlo, and a Hawkmoon - the legacy primary engram has an equal chance to give you one of those 3 Y1 guns, guaranteed. Hope this helps clear it up for you!

  • Ah yeah I see the dilemma. Maybe watch a few vids of people using Zhalo and then decide on it.

I've personally used it a lot in the Heroic Strikes when it was and wasn't buffed by modifiers. Here's my conclusion: When buffed by modifiers, it's a GODLY mid/close-range weapon that charges your Super and keeps refilling your magazine with multi-kills. Great for trash mobs. When it isn't buffed (like this week for example), it still does great against trash mobs, but suffers against Majors - you'll find yourself reloading a few magazines into a Major to take it out, especially if it isn't Arc Shielded. If you like Auto-Rifles, it's essentially the "Bad Juju" of Autos. As a side-note, the arc damage that chains to enemies has a chance to proc on each bullet fired. The more mobs you are mowing down at once, the more it procs, giving you a huge boost to your super. I would grab it, if for only the fact it is an elemental primary that can be used in Heroic Strikes. Do not recommend for the raid, however, due to the amount of Majors and lack of trash mob groups (which is where Zhalo excels).
