I love how people are bringing up the guy who got to the center in NMS in 30 hours. Let's do a little fact check:
1. He rushed. His sole ideal was get to the center of the universe. He didn't take the time to wander around planets, find all the shit. etc.
2. He used (from what I've heard now patched) exploits. He used exploits that allowed him to get minerals and cash faster to get better ships and such faster.
So yeah, you can get to the center in 30-40 hours ish. That's not the point however. NMS is about the journey, not the destination. It's about exploring the planets, finding the creatures and unraveling secrets. It's about naming creatures (which I bet 99% will have Dick somewhere in the name), about all that stuff, not just rushing to the end.
Well, that's my rant out of the way. I personally think it'll score pretty well, it that's just me. There are a lot of people who will disagree, but that's them.

This guy is taking an unlaunched build of the game and posting videos everywhere as if that will be exactly what we get. Many big patches have probably been done that he hasn't gotten.

To be clear he didn't use an exploit, as a member of the SubReddit I have read all his posts on the matter. With out spoiling much there are locations in the game where you are given two free charges for your warp drive, and an item that sells for a -blam!- load of money. Furthermore there are other locations that short cut you closer to the center of the Galaxy. While they aren't as common as regular star systems, there's always at least one of these with in view on the galactic map. Once he discovered this he would gather the free warp fuel, use the money he got from selling the expensive item to craft more, then he would warp to a short cut and repeat the process. That's more of a balancing issue than anything else really. Even still using this method it took him 30 hours to reach the center, just imagine how long it would take a person who stops and smells the roses?
-
I would imagine they would fix how easy it is to find. Still though, 30 hours speed run is a long time.
-
Well the locations with the free warp fuel and item that sells for a lot are also important from a lore and narrative perspective.
-
I guess. 30 hours is a long time for a speed run so I think people playing it normally will be fine.
-
Agreed.
-
It's believe he got one of the dev copies form somewhere
-
Someone got fired over that.
-
Good. Now, I'm off to watch Cobra TV for NMS info

Nah its not 99% dicks more like 30%, the rest will have ass, anal, -blam!- and butts...lot of butts.
-
Ten bucks says someone's going to name something dickbutt
-
Yes I know for sure because that would be me. Also Analdickbutt.
-
Then I mean this in the kindest way possible: -blam!- you don't name things that
jk bby do whatever floats your metaphorical space boat
-
It is such a shame that that daymihun guy or whatever his name is wasted his advantage with rushing towards the end, he could have filled the universe with dicks and butts, such wasted potential.

Tis true, so we shall carry forth this sacred mission

Edited by Watcher1905: 8/4/2016 7:48:39 PMThere's also an argument going on reddit that what he's playing actually isn't the completed game. At the very least missing the day one patch to fix stuff. For example he stated that upgrades to his beam weapon made it worse. He started with the very best gun, which i doubt would be a thing in the full game. Thanks. I'll check it out later.
