Gameinformer is dropping a lot of Destiny news today. Haven't seen it myself but someone linked me a video to the new PvP mode. My guess is that the SRL announcement is part of the GI story and so they didn't want to announce it before then.

Dude. I just read up on some of the changes. Looks like there are some new customization options. called Ornaments. Which is an aesthetic customization slot for armor. Return of SRL, and festival of the lost.
