I don't understand why anything has limits. Why put a limit on material, glimmer, marks, etc. 999 would be a good limit... it's just a number after all right?

I think the limit on marks is literally just to slow you down. When vendors change over, or when new content drops, they don't want you to be able to buy everything at once.
