These sites were against the TOS. Of course they were going to be removed. They aren't going to keep them just because a vocal minority (1/5 [i]is[/i] a minority) use them. IMO they made the game boring. I'd prefer randomly stumbling onto a Pokemon than checking a map and grind the shit out of them. The game's about exploration.

You're saying that catching pokemon is flat out impossible now. That is a complete lie. You're probably just angry because you can't just sit on your arse all day and have to actually walk around until you find one, y'know, just like the other handheld Pokemon games (except irl). The maps were a cheap tactic used to get rare Pokemon. Case closed. Wait until the nearby system returns if you're this salty over a mobile game.

I apologize, I wasn't taking it literal and taking it as being unable to actually try to track particular pokemon via the select & ping since the topic is about being able to track pokemon.

I read it. You're saying Niantic don't care about players because they removed a system that was against the TOS and removed a broken feature to improve the servers while they fix said feature. I don't care if people liked it. It's still cheating and I think Niantic did the right thing by removing them. They should've communicated more, absolutely, and they should've waited until the 3-step glitch was fixed, but what's done is done and no amount of crying over the Internet and acting like Niantic massacred your family when they actually just updated a -blam!-ing mobile game is going to change that. If you actually cannot play without a map, then wait until the bug is fixed before playing again. It really isn't that big of a deal.

They will. May take a while, but it will return. They just removed it to reduce the strain on the servers while they work on a fix.

That's not offocial they have been completely mum about it. I think they are doing the same thing bungie did. They can't fix or release anything to keep up with how quickly people are catching everything so they removed it to extend gameplay and make it harder. If it returns o would be very very surprised

They're staying silent because: A) They have no Community Manager. Niantic isn't that large. I think there's less than 50 people there. B) Saying anything would probably increase the sodium levels exponentially. I do think they should communicate more with players but the backlash may have put them off of communicating altogether.

Well their silence put me off the game entirely. I no longer trust them and I'm not playing another game that's nearly completely random.
