"A pocket beyond the veil". What sort of claptrap is this? For the Vex there is no paradox because they are rooted in Time like we are rooted in Space. They share a single mind across time and that is why there are no paradoxes for them. Paradoxes are Space based problems. Because the Vex base dimension is time itself they don't have linear time. No past and no future, there is only a single unified moment. With no experience of linear time, there can be no paradoxes.

  • "immutable" because we changed it. There may be no past of future to the Vex, but we perceive the world differently to them. Just as Dr Shim's team needed Rasputin to brute force them out of a reality based quandary caused by the Vex, the Vex needed a Guardian to brute force them out of a time based quandary caused by the Taken. Meaning that we learn one thing: survival is more important to them than the pattern. They will in extreme scenarios change the pattern to ensure their own survival, no matter how much that goes against their nature. Just as they adopted worship as a strategy for dealing with the Black Heart, the Vex are more adaptable than Praedyth gives them credit for.

  • Maybe the pattern is survival. They based most of their goals off of the hive goals, and the hive want to cut the universe into the perfect shape and become the ultimate lifeforms. The vex want very much the same, to weave themselves into reality and make an emperor of all outcomes. Or what if the pattern is what I stated up top? They have to repeat most things in a timeline after they enter it, like a pattern they have to complete or else risk failure. Cut away what didn't work and add on what did work. The goal of the pattern is to achieve an emperor of all outcomes.
