We're only half way through the year and we're at 600 cop shooting deaths.
Last year, the total was 1,200.
Now, lets see how many people will be killed by police (regardless of guilt) in a single man's life time.
1,200 x 95 = 108,000 people killed by police in your life time.
Effectively, you have a 27/800,000 chance of being killed by a cop in your life time.
Which, now that I've done the math, doesn't seem that bad.
But, lets do a comparison just because I would like to.
There's an annual 12,000 Homicides in the US.
60% of those are committed by black men.
13% of those are black on white murder (according to FBI Homocide Table 6).
So, Black men (on average) murder an annual 936 whites a year.
In a life time (assuming race rates don't change) that's 88,920.
Which is about 2,223/8,000,000 (223/800,000)
However, remember that cops are relatively uncommon, so your overall probability of being attacked by one is lower so you're about 10x more likely to be killed by a black dude than a cop.

Part of the problem is that we look at race as a factor for crime at all.

I agree, but due to the shit storm known as history, the socioeconomics behind crime overlap with what are perceived as racial groups, resulting in working data that totally misses the problem.

Exactly, if we look at the socioeconomic profile of crime the picture is much clearer.

Oh shit sorry forgot this existed, It's based on population per of the victim. In his test he probably rounded it to a number like let's say a thousand and called it a day, this can't be done because if both populations were even in the first place the data completely changes.

How? There was no population fixing and then there was. They were controlled. Do I have to do this out of 100k? Do I have to place this on the wave function of the electron configuration of the rarest isotope of cesium? Do I have to use this number and recalculate the neutron degenerate pressures in the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff limits? These numbers are simple and equivocate the whole equation but I want to see what type of voodoo you come up to support this claim which actually doesn't need any maths because the trend I state is clearly visible even before transformation

Then when you account that you see that black men are 4.1% more likely to be killed by police than whites

Yup And the crime rates for black men are astronomically over represented so it makes sense. Black men commit more violent crime and ergo see more police interaction in which they are to be killed more likely based off straight numbers to killings. Now blacks also have much higher rates of violent crime (8.8x more in relation to whites) so blacks are more likely to become violent with police. That's violence rates in relation to killings. Solution? Reduce crime rates in the black community and both police interactions and violent police interactions are reduced which reduces the police shootings and killings
