Sadly the only game mode that should have skill based match making dosen't have it.

It did then peasants complained about lag then was switched to connection based.

You could go aginsted people on a new card when your on your last win. The chance that your team will get pub stomped basically goes up every time you win a match.

It's not connection based. It's card based. There is still a lot of lag in trials

It currently uses win based matchmaking. It's almost SBMM, but a bit more connection based.

No it ain't, it ain't nothing based in Trials! I went in with no boons with no wins and got stomped! We had 2 losses and no wins and [i]still[/i] got stomped! There is no Base in Trials for matchmaking, Period! Bungie just wants you to think that so people will Shut Up!

Let me put it this way: At 0 wins, you are likely to fight other teams around 0 wins. They can terrifying but will [i]usually[/i] be garbage. You could face a strong team with 0 wins right off the bat, and if you can't handle them then you don't go flawless. A loss is a loss, and you earned it. At 8 wins, you are likely to fight other teams around 8 wins. They can be garbage but will [i]usually [/i]be terrifying. It's possible to fight a garbage 8-2 team. They luck through trying to complete bounties, and make your flawless runs easier. If matchmaking is taking forever and they can't find a low lag match, the restrictions get looser. It's possible for a 8-0 team to fight a 0-1 team on their final game but unlikely during peak trials hours. You must be prepared for anything in the trials!

Actually no skill based match making is used. It's based of the cards wins. Average people can go up aginsted the top 100 of trials players on the first match as well. Right now trials is a game that for most it is hope you go up aginsted someone equal or lower skill level then yourself.
