Here's the detailed break-down of getting the Mountaintop quest https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/4ro1ih/crucible_forged_guide_updated/

Oh so I'm almost done then, I just have to finish the weapons part a do get that final quest
-
I'm at the Trials Practice step, just need to wait for Elimination to return because I'm not ToO material.

Edited by Quarantane : 7/25/2016 2:34:44 PMYou don't need to win, just play enough games. I just set up an lfg stating that I wasn't looking for someone with great stats, just someone to play for fun. Not going for flawless, just bounties. Someone joined me and we played for fun, ended up winning the first 4 matches.
-
Thanks.. I knew going into the quest line that I wasn't a fan of the 3v3 modes and having to do Salvage and Skirmish a couple different times during the quest just reaffirms how badly I am at this particular mode. LOL..
-
Well it just takes time to learn the tactics and how to play those game modes, 3v3 definitely take a different play style than 6v6. At least you don't need to win right lol
-
complete all your crucible quests, you will get it eventually
-
Damn -_-
-
it's not that bad really if you play a decent amount of crucible. my quests were just sitting there for a while before I realized they give you exotics and legendaries once you beat the mountaintop quest. One bounty every week will drop unknown rewards.
-
I'm fine with scouts and pulses but I'm pretty bad at hand cannons and auto rifles. I'm probably just gonna whip out the Ol' reliable Thorn and see how it works now...
-
Thorn has been nerfed alot, not sure how good it is but I don't see it often at all anymore. I suggest either hawkmoon, or eyasluna. First curse is also amazing, but if you don't like hands cannons you probably haven't finished that quest, but I like it.
-
I've not used thorn at all. My suggestion if you want to get better with hand cannons is try to beat the jolly holiday quest and use the last word over and over and over. It really helped me. You can get upwards of over 20% completion in one match if your k/d is high enough. It took me a long time though besides a few games I did extremely well with it. I've had to sacrifice many lousy performances to improve myself as a player.
-
Took me forever to finish that quest, one bad game and it's basically a reset button. I decided to take the easy route and go for only heavy/super/wins to get it done. I love first curse though, definitely worth it
-
you get the chaperone for the jolly holiday quest. I can't remember what I had to do to get the first curse. I know what you mean though with having a bad game then your % goes down 10-20%. If you at least don't go negative it wouldn't drop much but I actually got almost all my kills with TlW.
-
My mistake, I did blyth at the same time, so I forget which one have me which. Chaperone was a tough quest, I haven't used it much either
-
it's not a bad shotgun but I prefer binary dawn or lord if wolves.
