I have 2 theories as to who is the villain of Project 2017:
1. Metal Sonic goes rogue again and creates an army to destroy the world.
2. The Egg Robo, as well as some other old badniks become self aware and star wreaking havoc upon the world.
Of course, this is just speculation. I could be wrong on both counts and this might turn out to be Eggman finally achieving Eggmanland.

I'm just really excited that there's more 3D Sonic for us. And it seems to have a more serious tone, which I kind of like. There is Sonic Boom for the comedy, Sonic Mania for the nostalgia, and now this, for the big serious adventure. I kind of wish classic Sonic wasn't there, especially since Sonic Mania is a thing, but if that's what they have to do to attract people, so be it. It's so far away though! Holiday 2017... Well, they rushed games before and it never works out. Make it amazing, Sonic Team!
