I don't think there have really been enough recent games to be able to judge that. The Boom games weren't made by "Sonic Team" and even though Lost World got a [i]meh[/i] reaction from most people, before that there were games like Colors and Generations, which are [i]not[/i] bad.

Yeah, Colors and Generations weren't bad games. But, as of now, the sonic series is not doing well.

Well I don't see many failures from Sonic Team as of late. Even their (soon to be shut down because it didn't bring enough money) mobile game Sonic Runners was really fun. I totally believe that they can do something really good with this upcoming game.
