Any particular job in the field?

I would like to be a character designer. Nothing drives me crazier than watching a show with [b]unoriginal[/b] characters. Seriously it just kills the show for me. In action shows if the main character is kind, friendly, insanely OP Mary Sue I'm bored. [spoiler]*cough* SAO *cough*[/spoiler] So to this fix this problem I figured that I should go into character design and development, and make learn how to make creative characters.
