It's a support, it's not meant to get one shot kills.
As of right now, Sunsinger is completely balanced. Take that from someone who actually plays all three classes on a daily basis.

NO...and NO. 1. There are no "support" classes in this game. SSs have always been a support-DPS class...and a CQC specialist. In PvE, its the (or at least WAS) the class you turned to when you absolutely had to defend a particular spot on the map and you didn't have a Defender Titan in the group. 2. I also paly all three classes...and have since the Beta. Right now, Sunsinger is a broken, underpowered mess. Other than self-res, there is nothing that a SS can do right now that a VW or a SC can't do, and do better. That's not "balance". That's nerfiing a subclass into the ground. This game is bigger than what goes on in the Crucible 3v3 playlist.
-
It's not broken. You just want to believe there aren't support options in this game. If that's what you want, then sure, but don't try and get everyone else to believe that you're right.
-
1. They are broken. Just like Sunbreakers were broken by being over-nerfed back in the winter. The state of Firebolt grenades right now in comparison to the effectiveness of both Scatter grenades and Axion-bolts is just a really rude joke. 2. Every subclass in the game has "support options" as part of their range of abilities. But there are no "support classes" like Mercy or Zenyatta (Overwatch) in THIS game. In fact, spec'ed properly , Shadowshot is more powerful AoE weapon than even Nova Bomb. With Bloodborne and a rocket launcher, I've wiped out entire add waves in the boss fight in the Undying Mind strike as a Nightstalker Hunter.
-
1. Sunbreakers were never broken after that patch. They were one of the best options for crucible. The only reason people chose striker was because they saw the patch notes and didn't even try to use it. 2. There are Support Roles in this game. Each class has one. Hunter is Nightstalker, Warlock is Sunsinger, Titan is Defender. These all have Support perks that the others lack. Gunslinger has no Support perks. Bladedancer has no Support perks. Voidwalker has no Support perks. Striker has no Support perks. Sunbreaker has no Support perks. Storm Caller has 1 Support perk that nobody uses because it does absolutely nothing. It also has to compete with Transcendence.

Edited by Cdogg2240: 8/17/2016 9:10:36 AMSunsinger has one useful support perk that can help your team. And it's hard for you to use it with them.
-
The whole class is based on support. What are you talking about?
-
Song if Flame is the only support perk on that tree(besides sunburst which is mainly useful in radiance when you have a one hit kill) and even then if you're not chatting with your teammates they don't know that you're using it.
-
Support is t about what perks they have, it's about what role they play. They are a team support, just like Nightstalker and Defender.

Yes they were broken. The HoS wound up with major bugs that affected hit detection. Bugs that wound up needing to be fixed, and SBs also ended up getting a later buff. But for a while you basically had to hit your target in the chest with the hammer in order to damage it, and even that wasn't a guarentee.
-
I ran nothing but Sunbreaker on my Totan when playing PvP and have never had a problem.
-
You are the exception. The problems with HoS at the time were widely noted, and Bungie had to fix them. In my own play, I went from only having to throw a hammer in the general direction of another player to get the kill ( some people wouldn't even do that. They'd just run into a room, spin in a circle, and spam hammer at each of the four walls) to basically having to bullseye a target to have any chance of killing it. Even that was no guarentee because the prox. det . was bugged so hammers would sometimes go off short of the target.
-
The only support its giving is its "Fireborn" perk, which makes you revive yourself from the dead. It helps a lot in PvE, but isn't too useful in PvP. So that's why we need better tracking/damage on grenades. Nova bomb is fine, and storm caller is also fine.

Orb on melee Tank as super Self revive Ability recharges insanely fast Solar Nades (+ gift of sun) Firebolt Nades (+gift of sun) Viking Funeral (+touch of flame)

Which isn't bad. Tank as super... this is laughable. I kill all Sunsingers like a normal player with or without skin perk. If they self res 90% of the time I kill then before the animation is done with any special weapon. Self revive is fine against stupid people or people not paying attention. It's a distraction at best. Not saying it's not goid. But it's insanely situational at best. Solar Nades are garbage. They don't do enough damage without burn or last long enough without gauntlets. Firebolt grenades are so bad right now it's painful. The tracking nerf made them.worthless for throwing them into anything other than a crowd of people that aren't looking. And they don't even do 75 damage per hit. I've been red bar health and hit by them only to turn and kill the guy who hit me. Burn was the only thing that made them good. Viking funeral doesn't even as five seconfs. Which means you have 2 seconds to do damage after you finish the animation of just throwing a grenade and since the burn effect doesn't stack per hit, it's utter garbage. So no. None of this at all.
-
Actualy, it does stack
-
Edited by Angelis101: 7/20/2016 2:23:08 PMI've never seen the burn duration persist after the grenade did its last tick if they got hit previously. So no the burn damage doesn't refresh and stack. Unless they made some change I didn't see. Like they always did

1. Flame shield got nerfed so SS are a lot less "tanky" than they used to be. 2. The duration of Radiance when used with Fireborn to self-rez got nerfed. 3. Yes...that's what the SS SUPER DOES. It reduces the cooldowns on the Warlocks abilities...plus you can either buff the abilities of allies, become damage resistant (Radiant Skin) or self-res (Fireborn). 4. Solar nades are unreliable. They are a zone-control/area denial weapon. Unless you use chokepoints or paint an enemy in them, they are useless in PVE...and only really useful to force opponents to move in particular directions in PvP. 5. Firebolt grenades were nerfed into the ground. They detonate so slowly right now, that you'd have to be BLIND not to be able to get out of the way...and they do almost no damage (in PVP) unless you basically hit your target in the chest with it. When the weapon is SUPPOSED to be an AoE weapon. 6. Viking Funeral got nerfed. Turned into a debuff, instead of DoT attack. 7. Gift of the Sun, yes. But Hunters and Titans have exotics that allow them to carry two grenades if they wish. Bottomline: Every aspect of the Sunsinger has been nerfed...and nefed BADLY. Now they are no more tanky than a Voidwalker wearing The Ram. Voidwalkers now have the best grenades....and Stormcallers are better point-defense and crowd-controllers than Sunsingers. If it weren't for fusion grenadeds in PVP, you'd could remove SSs from the game and no one would notice right now.
-
The grenades aren't giving that support role, the first grenade you get does but the others, not so much. The fusion grenade just makes you throw one, and be done with it. Bolt grenade is similar, but doesn't do high enough damage.
-
Where's this fabled "support role" this Subclass is supposed to have? Other than Song of Flame, I see no team oriented abilities. No useful enemy debuff abilities. Where is it? Where's the support utility?
-
It's support options are very very limited. I mean there is not a lot you can do with support options. On a side note, unless you are playing with clan mates or dropping a lot of orbs of light, what incentive do players have to use perks like song of flame for support? How do I know if they can see a decrease in cooldowns and how many players have the patience to stand by a highly nitric able flaming sunsinger and be willing to risk getting supered in the process. I know if I saw people huddled around a flaming sunsinger I'd super all of them. Sunsingers don't offer support that impacts gameplay enough to make them a legitimate support class. Neither do defender Titans. They offer more of a threat to being supered then they do support.
-
Support in pvp how? The radius for Song of lame is small and people never realize you are using it.
