The solution is simple: return knives to their original damage. Upon selecting the Incendiary perk, apply a 10% penalty to the damage of the knife. If you can impose a penalty for choosing blink or change the damage of Golden Gun by selecting a perk, you can lower knife damage for choosing another. Your system proves that you have the code developed for that type of situation, and this way you literally get it both ways.

  • 10% equals no point in using IB.

  • Choose a perk to increase damage and we'll trade that off by taking away damage. Brilliant. You should balance all their perks. Expanded mag? Balanced by smaller mag size. More stability? Balanced with more recoil. More range? Harsher damage drop off.

  • That made no sense. You either get knives without burn the way they were, or knives with burn the way they are now. I may not have worded that clearly in my post, but I was trying to say that if flaming knives were the issue, they should only affected flaming knives. I am not wanting any more damage removed from anything, just the ability to select between old non-flaming blades that didn't need a nerf to the new flaming blades that Bungie insists needed a nerf.

  • Technically Bungie specifically stated they did not need a nerf but they were nerfing it anyway. Knives without burn the way they were. Or knives reduced in damage with extra damage added by the perk. That means either the burn gives no actual extra damage because it simply bring dmgs back to where it is without the perk anyway, or the actual net gain dmg is so small it's pointless. (with your second post I do now see that it would at least bring up the base damage, which I would appreciate, but it still leaves incendiary blade a pointless perk).

  • Keep in mind, I'm only saying to keep Incendiaries the way they are because I assume that's what they want in general, and wouldn't accept anything else. If they are going to break one weapon, at least they can fix the one that didn't need to be touched. Personally, I don't mind Incendiary damage going back to what it was, it was never really an issue for me. I simply assume that they want it where it is, and wouldn't change it even if we asked. Then again, I am of the opinion that the nerf had less to do with the very rare OHK and more to do with just wanting people to use Incendiaries less, so take that for what it's worth.

  • Fair enough.
