One of my relatives pays 50% in taxes cuz she just barely hit the $250k income mark and thus probably gets less than someone making a bit less
She works 6 days a week 10 hours a day as a veterinarian.......
I hate it when people say we should raise taxes......

This is absolute bs

Edited by Britton: 7/13/2016 9:23:20 AMBullshit on the 50% in taxes. Even if she hits the top marginal brackets, which are 35%, her effective rates for the year will still be lower.

Lol, ok kid. Keep barking, i don't make the facts, I only report them
-
You only lie like the piece of shit you are. The only thing worse than a dishonest person is a dishonest person who insists they arent dishonest.
-
That's not how brackets work. What country is this?
-
I simplified it, i'm not going to tell you everything. And its in California btw
-
Ha. I knew it when I first started reading this that it was California. For those of you who are calling BS, your wrong. One of the most liberal states and yes nearly 50% tax.

If you're not giving accurate information, don't bother giving it.
-
Good news, it's accurate, but one person that isn't convinced is not exactly anything I care about. I'll keep my private information to myself. Piss off
-
You gave crappy info, and now you're defensive. Ok then. Cya.

Well obviously there should be more tax brackets anyone over 250000 pays the same tax rate? That's stupid especially for people that just hit 250,000. If you are stupid rich like multi millionaires then the multi billionaires, you can get taxed heavily and STILL be super rich wah I can only afford two private jets instead of three #firstworldproblems
-
Rich people provide jobs and buy things that require people with jobs to make . Tax them more and they'll spend less, invest less, lower employment, and possibly move, not create new businesses to create more jobs and so on. Here in America you can be whatever you want. If your poor that's your fault or you chose to be poor and leach off of others but complain about being poor. Taxing more has been proven to not work. Besides look at this way, the talking heads that spew all this tax the rich crap are all rich....WTF. All they want is power and they know if you buy into it they can control you. Please be diligent and inform yourself about issues and become an intelligent, independent thinker and or voter.

This sounds like a good idea

Accumulation of wealth among individuals harms the economy
-
Only if you believe in a finite collection of wealth in a nation. It doesn't hurt my neighbor if I become rich by creating wealth. There's no loser for a winner in a capitalist society.
-
There are losers for concentrated flow of wealth.
-
That's not how it works. Taxes are bracketed.

Edited by Coopski: 7/11/2016 7:33:31 PMOnly the amount over the bracket is taxed at the higher rate. Also, for single people, the bracket would be 190k to 413k at 33% federal.

Plus State Income Tax, and every other tax the government can think of to throw at you.
One of my relatives pays 50% in taxes cuz she just barely hit the $250k income mark
Um, isn't the highest tax bracket under 40%? I doubt she's paying 50% federal income tax on $250k.

Edited by Coopski: 7/11/2016 7:36:11 PM250k is in the 33% bracket. Also, these are marginal rates. You're not paying 50% (in this example) on the entire income.
