Fix Trials: Only one lighthouse trip per character

BEFORE YOU READ, I HAVE BEEN TO THE LIGHTHOUSE OVER 20 TIMES, CHECK MY STATS. THIS IS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY, NOT ME. ATTACK ALL YOU WANT. DEAF EARS ;) This is not an original suggestion. Many have suggested before. Of course we know the suggestion could be circumvented. Two measures can fix it. - Only one lighthouse trip per character, per week (max of 3 trips). - To prevent carrier streamers from resetting cards before a flawless, make it to where the fire team must have ALIGNED CARDS. That way the system can't be circumvented. What I mean by this is, if wins on cards on the fire team do not match, then you cannot enter the activity.. Another fix could be a tier system as many suggest. The "carry" or even the steamer carry has completely taken over ToO and it's just dumb. It's become so ridiculous that the community actually has this weekly thread (this is indicative of a PROBLEM) https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/208558104/0/0 Regardless of steamers or just insane keyboard and mouse players with a massive advantage over those using a controller, there are people in Destiny who play trials merely to keep others out. You want to talk about bad for the game? Cure this cancer. For the "git gud" and "KD matters" people
Trials is supposed to be competitive, and in it's current state it is NOT competitive for the upper skill tiers. Therefore, it is not competitive for lower tiers because they can't compete. What's ironic is that the elitist PvP players always say " playing tough opponents makes you better," yet they have no desire to play people on thier level in most cases. They jsut want to stomp casuals and feel superior. If they actually face an opponent of thier skill level, they complain that it's too hard and that they're mad lol. Total hypocrisy
. Like and bump if you agree. Another thread on the matter:
I'm just gonna leave this here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/208749005/0/0/1
Yeah seriously it's already enough trials no lives think they're superior with their high target aquisition sniper rifles and wambo combos with their friends who play every week and it's a struggle to even find other good people like there's nothing elite about having too much time on your hands

    • What annoys me so much about trials is the fact that so many guardians out there struggle so much with trying to go flawless, playing as hard as they can every match, panicking because they only need 2 more wins etc. While at the same time, other players who have spent their life on the game casually breeze through trials with little effort or communication involved. Completely destroying the teams who care so so so much more about flawless than they do. Like pathetic losers who grind for a better elo or kd by playing the first 3 or 4 matches then resetting their card just to always play easy teams. Destroying the hopes of any of those bad players trying their hardest to get flawless all because some no life team wants 'better stats'

    • You people are horrible. If you can't beat a guy who is double carrying or single carrying then you don't deserve to see the lighthouse.

      • I love trials and I will spend my weekends playing it all day. If I can only play to win it 3 times in one weekend why call it a game. Its was made to chalenge yourself to get better based on what you know is good to use atm and what your good at using atm. If your mad at people for playing the game and being good then why are you wanting to play it and be good? If it wasn't hard and everyone went flawless it wouldn't be fun to come back to every weekend and waste time doing it. If you want rewards there's gold tier packages that you can get for not trying but if you want the good stuff you have to show your greatness

        • Don't give a shit about who's carrying who > I just want MM sorted; still doesn't make sense how I'm in OZ & 2/3 matches were against dudes from UAE, laggy as Fark! (Not all one sided - I'm sure they were abusing us for the lag to). Also, round (2) on two separate cards we ended up with teams claiming a trip to the lighthouse - that's messed up. Haven't even warmed up yet & we're playing dudes that got something to fight for - Admittedly, should of not underestimated the opps :(

        • Or you know have them go against people who have gone flawless It then becomes a whole new battleground, testing yourself against some of the "best" around

          • Simple way to solve this, once your character has went flawless, you're put into higher tier rumble mode, no carries just everyone fighting it out for themselves, 9 round system again.

Another option would be to make it so people who routinely go flawless only play others who have been flawless multiple times. It should be fairly easy to see these people. They'll be ones on Twitch going flawless 30 times a weekend. Then they'd get even bigger audiences (this is a great idea) Tripledildo vs Imbapewpewvaginaface and then the players being carried may actually come into it more. They could be the difference makers. So I'm not talking about people that have gone flawless 4 times of 8 times but those who go flawless all day every day over and over whilst trials is running.

            • I think others have said this, but I think matchmaking should be updated to where if you go to the lighthouse, any games after that you are only paired with teams who have at least 1 player that has already gone flawless that week. This would balance out the matchmaking, bring more players in, and give better opportunity for newer teams at the same time keeping things competitive. If no one on your team has gone flawless you are only paired with like teams. I've never been to the lighthouse and not sure if I'll ever make it, but a format like this may give more chances and hopefully bring some fun back to trials.

            • No, why should players be restricted to play trials? They paid for the content but still get restricted access, this would just damage the player base.

            • This is a bit too extreme. Players shouldn't be limited just because they're good, though I do agree that some form of tiered system would go a long way to opening up Trials to a wider audience. Trials is what happens when you completely ignore SBMM. It's great if you're in the top half, not so great if you're in the bottom half. I play a ton of crucible and have a lot of fun with it despite knowing I'm never going to be a top tier player given certain physical limitations and my age. I average about 1.0 weekly after months and months of practice, but I just don't have the fine motor skills to achieve the fast TTKs you need to compete at that level. Being carried holds no interest for me, so unless they add some form of ranked tiered system or other SBMM to Trials it's not a game mode I'm going to compete in. Not asking for a freebie, or sympathy. I've worked hard to get to the place I'm at and I'm proud of that, but until they add some type of SBMM or tiered system it's just no fun for below average players to participate.

            • Hmmm where to start? This is ridiculous. Just because you have a problem going flawless does not mean that trials should be made into something you think is the solution. TBH there is no way to get rid of carriers in ToO. Now yes there are a lot of trials carriers but that does not give you the reason to go and complain in the forums or try and find a way to fix it. Now I'm not the greatest player at this game. I think that i personally suck. My trials stats are not the best but i have gone flawless 11 times. 4 in y1 and 7 since ttk released In the time i have tried to get to the Light House only 2-3 where carries. I have played streamer and try hard sweats. I have even played my own friends. I earned many if my flawless and i have even reached the light house with people who have a .5 kd. If your team cant make ut to the light house then dont blame the carriers who are helping people or trying to make some money doing what they are best at. Blame your self and your team for not making it. Imo you just want the game made easier so that you can have abetter chance at succeeding, and yes you have more flawless than me but you probably got carried through most. Please get good and quit the forums

This would ruin some people's streaming careers (or at least damage their viewership) on Twitch and Bungie aren't going to hurt people who promote their game. I'm not going to argue with you (even though I disagree) but instead I'll just break it to you now that they aren't going to do this, no matter how many people reply to your post.
