I would be okay with the changes if they simply reverted some of the other nerfs.
Give firebolt it's range and delay back.
Give Flameshield it's recharge time back.
Give fireborn it's activation time back.

Keep the firebolt range nerf but put VF back to how it was.

That is another option yes. I personally would prefer more range to damage, but I could see how others may prefer it the other way around.
