  • Military is definitely the best way to start. In a realistic situation it's impossible to get out of debt quickly, you have to crawl out.

  • I disagree with starting with the military. I'd certainly cut it, and probably to a similar degree. I'd [i]start[/i] with entitlements, though. Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are the biggest problems. But yes, there's no way we can come up with $20 trillion in a short period. We need to eliminate the $520 billion dollar deficit, first.

  • Those services don't need to be reduced, just reworked where they can't be abused.

  • Abuse isn't even the problem. By themselves they account for trillions in unfunded liabilities. The money isn't there.
