It was an accident, kinda like how Vincent Vega on Pulp Fiction accidentally blew the head off the black dude. Innocent till proven guilty

 • It was dark out, the officer had just put on hand moisturizer, his finger did one of those fake full auto maneuvers to make the gun shoot multiple times.

 • 'Yeah, I accidentally shot this big black dude 4-6 times in the chest this one time I was an officer, lol!" Yeah, for sure. These men should not be cops. They're incapable of their job and don't care for the lives of others. You should never be that trigger happy in such an important profession.

 • That was not trigger happy. The cop wasn't wanting to pull the trigger and kill the man. He panicked and pulled the trigger. When someone is scared they're not keeping track of what they're doing. The cop probably didn't know he almost unloaded into the guy. He probably didn't know even after he snapped back into reality.

 • You can't be serious? Lol. When you apply to become an officer, you're expected to have the temperament and emotional stability for the job, and you're also supposed to get trained to the highest standard possible due to the great importance of the task you're given - to serve and protect society. Shooting a man 4-6 times when you're not in any immediate danger is completely unacceptable and reprehensible. These men are not fit for the job, and never should have been in their roles in the first place. Perhaps they should have gave that a thought before they murdered a subdued man?

 • We don't know how long these guys have been on the force. Say one has been on the force for 5 years. In those 5 years he had to deal with a lot of hate and a lot of shit that would mess anyone up. Imo no cop right now is fit for the job. It's too extreme of a job. They all need to get more training. Especially after these events as crimes and violence against cops will most likely increase. Gave that a thought before murdering someone? That of all things would not bring going through their heads, while they're safe or in action. I highly doubt it would go through your head or mine. And I'm confident in saying that neither of us or anyone on b.net would be able to be law enforcement.

 • We actually do know about these cops, if you bothered to research. One has been in the force for 3 years and one has been in for 4. As well as that, one of them has been suspended for shooting another civilian, although that wasn't fatal.

 • At the time of writing the post op and I hadn't heard on the news the identities of the police officers. But thank you for bringing this info up.

 •
Imo no cop right now is fit for the job. It's too extreme of a job. They all need to get more training. Especially after these events as crimes and violence against cops will most likely increase.
I think you're just applying your own mental state to many other people who wish to be cops and many current cops. The prospect of putting your life on the line and doing such an important task frightens you, and understandably so, but your own emotions don't reflect the emotions of others. The vast majority of cops out there are actually fit for the job and have adequate training, but you don't hear about them because incidents like this don't occur, and lives aren't taken unnecessarily. All the kudos to them.
Gave that a thought before murdering someone? That of all things would not bring going through their heads, while they're safe or in action.
…I was clearly referring to their own self reflection before they applied for the duty of being an officer. "Can I do this job responsibly? It's a lot to take on."
I highly doubt it would go through your head or mine. And I'm confident in saying that neither of us or anyone on b.net would be able to be law enforcement.
Then your confidence is misplaced. I've met multiple cops on this site, and it's still a very possible profession for me to take on and one that I've actually been looking into. I know I'm capable of the job.

 • You might be right and you might be wrong about my mental state as I too have on and off thought about getting into law enforcement. My family has had some law enforcement members and military members too. Idk how long you've been here, but when I'm here I only see edgy kids trying to make jokes so I hope you get where I'm coming from when I say that. Do I think I'm up for the task? I can't say. I'm willing to risk my life for justice, but sometimes I feel like justice is unattainable in the US.

 • I've been here for nearly 6 years now, I know how people on this site work. But to comment on your desire to become an officer, if you ever have doubts that you can do the job I would say stray away and find a new career path. There's no room for error when you're in the heat of action and even the tiniest bit of hesitation can be disastrous. Any reluctancy to apply for the position is a big warning sign for such a serious position. But who knows, maybe you'll feel more confident later on.

 • I've heard the same advice from my dad and other officers. It's advice I've been following.

 • It was an accident. I'd just like to point out tho the man wasn't shot in the head. He was shot in the chest.
