IQ tests are not accurate ways to hire a worker. Name something a high iq person can do that a lower one can't.
You can't that's where the problem starts

Explain why Justin Bieber should have been deported years ago.

if the job requires someone to be good at english and very specific concepts an iq test would be an appropriate way to find a suitable employee for a job. also the op was probably only using the iq test specifically, as an example to illustrate that employers should be able to test an employee's suitability for a job.
touch me bby
design the software that will allow a satellite to predict the location of our planet and jupiter 5 years from now and then be able to calculate a route and trajectory that will allow it to get there
touch me bby
-
That literally isn't hard. The software one already exists two input your variables and and it solves itself. Basic excel shit. Give it Microsoft office and it's ready.
-
i said design it not use it. and your intentionally way oversimplifying the process to make it sound easier than it is. this is not highschool computer class it is literally rocket science.
touch me bby
-
It's not hard to design a math problem into a computer.... Rocket science isn't as hard as people think it is.
-
it takes 100s of people to design just the software. each with an understanding of computer programming and advanced macroscopic physics.
touch me bby
They are many software engineers with avg IQ's, IQ doesn't correlate exactly into intelligence.
-
Edited by phoenix55x: 7/7/2016 4:30:05 PMsoftware is not engineered by just a few people. the radar for a military plane for example, takes 100s of engineers just to so the software not even the hardware. and most of those 100s of people are above average intelligence. however the new designs and innovations come from a very small group of very brilliant and experienced people they are the true designers and without their intelligence the project would be nothing. so yes you can be an electrical engineer with average intelligence you just wont be doing anything that important and you will be replaceable unless you truly are brilliant. also i know how iq works it has nothing to do with mathematical or scientific intelligence my point was that you do have to be smart for some jobs. iq is only an indicator of skill with specific concepts and use of english. You have said nothing I don't know
-
if i assumed that your knowledge on electrical engineering was limited to
you dont have to be that smart to be an engineer
which i would because thats what your first comment said(paraphrased of course) i would naturally assume that you didnt know how many smart people go into engineering something. but since you are more knowledgeable then you let on (if i am to believe your second comment) my only real question is: why play dumb? Edited by Oak_Khan: 7/7/2016 4:49:28 PMMy point and experience, backed up with hard data, was that IQ doesn't cleanly correlate into intelligence. I have met many people in STEM with avg IQ's and SAT scores who constantly ace tests and are being snatched up by companies before they have left college. I know people who worked on the self driving cars you see today, a lot of people who work for alphabet. Trust me once you actually go into this field all those misconceptions melt away
the average IQ in India is 82
-
well you either completely missed my point or ignored it. my point is that iq does not indicate your potential for engineering but you do need to be smart to have a profound impact on whatever your designing
touch me bby
-
And you are missing my point. Let me break it down High IQ does not equal smart
-
High IQ does not equal smart
thats how i know you weren't paying attention cause that is half of my point. i agreed with that and said it but i further asserted that while you do not need a high iq, you do need to be smart.
touch me bby
-
Your original point stated that you need a high IQ to design complicated software
-
i never actually said that the op of this comment did but i can understand why you thought i meant that one needed a high iq to be an engineer
-
Op said Name something a high IQ person can do that a low IQ person cannot. You answered with design a complicated software. You said this, don't lie
-
so in other words your a knit picker right?
IQ tests are not accurate ways to hire a worker.
I'm more concerned with freedom of association, and testing an applicant's IQ is linked directly to that.

Edited by Nun: 7/6/2016 11:39:16 AMNo iq tests were made to fail anyone who wasn't white. Hence why one old study claimed most a lot of black people were mentally retarded. Which isn't true. The way the tests are they can't bring anything important to the table. Businesses have to be regulated they don't deserve freedom. Taking an iq test will determine nothing.
-
Nonbiased intelligence tests made in the modern area are now racist because reasons
-
They are not unbiased 😒.
-
No iq tests were made to fail anyone who wasn't white.
In the past, sure. But regardless of the intent, a business owner ought to be able to exercise authority over their business. People can choose to associate with others or not.
Businesses have to be regulated they don't deserve freedom.
I disagree.
