The concept of a Guardian is fundamentally flawed. They attract more danger than they fight off. After killing Crota, we got Oryx on our ass. And now that we've become such a pest to the Fallen, they've found SIVA, hence ROI.
The ideology of a Guardian must change if we want to truly want to venture outside the City, otherwise every attempt at colonizing will result in a shit ton of Mountain Glenns.

There's an old quote I remember that goes along the lines of, "strength builds power. And power invites challenge. So we must become even more powerful." Can't remember what it's from.
-
Simply leaving them be is not an option since Crota was planning a massive invasion of Earth that would have coveted the planet in Seeder ships. Crota himself would have led the charge. Oryx would have eventually come anyway and with far less warning. As it is now we have broken the back of the Hive leadership. Prince Crota - dead King Oryx - dead The Daughters - dead Warpriest - dead Malok - dead Alak Hul - dead All of their lieutenants and commanders - dead dead dead
-
Xivo Arath and Savathun are still at large. As are the Ahamkara. And Oryx killed his sisters the same way we did and brought them back, so we may not have seen the last of him.
-
Actually The Daughters aren't dead. We only sent them back to their realm.

Not our fault that people hate us 'cause they ain't us

Rip
Volume 4 will have a time skip. News came straight from RTX
-
How far?
-
I think it's 8 months to a year. With the redesigns not changing their physique or facial features much, coupled with the crew explicitly saying it wouldn't be immensely long, AND ten fact the Haven isn't too far from Vale, it makes sense to make such an argument.
-
So it's just skipping the journey to Haven and maybe a little bit afterwards?
-
I'm not sure if the skip will happen immediately, or after chapters 1/2
