In the original storyline he was supposed to take us to the dreadnought to save the speaker from orxy and show us that the traveler was actually the darkness in hidding but they thought that was to complex story telling for children and made it the trash we have now. I wish destiny was rated M so "complex storylines" would be over looked because children wouldnt be the main focus to sell the game. Just goes to show catering to children can ruin a good games potential.

  • That is not the reason why they switched storylines. It is becomes a composer left Bungie not far from the launch date. He also told them that if they used any of his intellectual property that he would sue them. Thus, they had to scrap almost all of the story from before and they postponed the game for a year. That is why we have what we have. Blame that guy.

The story was always the intellectual property of bungie. It was never the writers.

  • 1. That story is impossible. No employee could ever have intellectual property rights over a story they were writing while under contract as an employee to a company. Frankly, this point is beyond contestation. It's beyond belief that he would have intellectual property rights. And intellectual property law just doesn't work that way. 2. You need to go back and read the story that was published from the more reputable sites. Read the kotaku version. They appear to have done the most actual investigation.

  • Bahahahaha. You're calling me foolish? Look in the mirror dude. That is one article that I have seen out of 5 others that actually had evidence to go along with it. More evidence for my story than yours. So far, I'm winning. If you are going to continue arguing with me I suggest you just stop and stop wasting both of our times cuz I won't budge on this.

I found an article supporting my position. You haven't cited one actual article yet. Because the articles either don't exist or are pure conjecture from not reputable sites. As to the IGN article, you mean this one: http://m.ign.com/articles/2014/09/29/was-this-the-original-storyline-for-destiny Or how about the Forbes article: http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/10/20/the-story-of-destiny-was-far-more-mangled-than-you-ever-imagined/#237db4f62da9 Neither of which support your position. There are no reputable articles that claim that the story was Joe Staten's intellectual property because it's ridiculous and unbelievable. I eagerly await your excuses for why you can't find any articles from reputable places that support your position. I assume it's going to be: "I don't have time to waste looking for articles." Which of course you'll write after you looked and realized you can't find any.

  • To be fair, he's quoting, and proving his claims. You don't seem to be. He DOES have a point and yet you can't prove your claim, and resort to insults and unnecessary things like calling this conversation useless.

  • Dude, we are humans. We are always wrong. As imperfect beings we can never truly know something. Like we will never truly know gravity. Only if we are perfect beings we could we know what is right and wrong. So do not feign to know that you are right and I am wrong. Now begone, peasant.

Oh look, I was muted. Well, he showed me. What a debilitating response, full of wit and intelligence. The mark of pure genius. Wonder if I'll get over this... Oh wait. I'm over it. What's that feeling? Maybe I'm not... Maybe I am devastated after all... Oh no, never mind, I was just hungry. I'll grab lunch now.

  • You were wrong though. The law is clear, anything work you in your role as an employee is the property of the company. You want to believe there was supposed to be more, and think you know some great secret but you don't. The game was never that big thing broken into pieces. The plan was dlcs, it was advertised pre launch that way, from the first mention of the game.
