No that made getting exotics completely rng and you could go a year without getting some for no reason other than bad luck

True, I never got the gally to drop. But now it's to easy.

Why is that bad? Unless it's a quest or activity like the spindle it's all luck anyways. Making them harder to get just reduces choice
