Wait; someone else read those books? I thought I was alone. I loved that series.

Yeah those books were basically my childhood. Actually some big movie company has bought the rights to make a movie from the books but they never made the movie and wont give away the rights. Hopefully someone who actually wants to make them movie gets a chance.

They do have another series set in the same universe, with a new book coming out sometime this year.
