Because I own my body, and by extension my labor, speech, and property?

Nope lol the fact is so many people would break the law if there where no consequences it's human nature I mean why wouldn't you steal if there was no law to stop you doing so a small few would say because it's wrong but most wouldn't all the reward with none of the work

That may very well be the case. I'm more concerned with why people find it immoral (granted, I definitely find immoral). Apparently, 90% of the population will use the law as a metric for their moral framework. So they'll say something like, "It's wrong to steal because it's against the law." I disagree with that line of reasoning. I think stealing is illegal because it is immoral, and I think that it is immoral because it violates a person's property rights.

There was more to my first post than meets the eye just because you don't want to be stabbed to death doesn't mean I have to care about you at all you are just a random in this world same as me you die another million take your place same as me in the end the reason I wouldn't if there was no law is because it's a slippery slope once I kill some one and people find there are no consequences then I have to sleep with one eye open on the off chance some nut breaks into my house and likes my stuff and feels like gutting me for every 5 people out there that couldn't kill or break the law there are another 10 that would

Right. Without consequences, violence may very well increase. That's a given. But would those actions be morally permissible?
-
I think that's why we have do on to others as you would have them do on to you for all the complex ways of asking is it really moral or not just ask would you be ok with it happening to you so many people are complete hypocrites when it comes to things like this like that arsehole just cut in front of me then said person proceeds to do the same thing the fact is though morals are usualy more grey than simple black and white
