Well, a god-wave, or in tangible terms, a tsunami, can travel as fast as 500mph on earth taking anywhere from a couple hours to a day to reach the shore. On Fundament there isn't a land mass. So the god-wave taking 2 earth years of time to accrue enough mass, power(whatever) to hit the "sky mass" means that their planet must be super massive. Not to mention the tectonic shift that would have to occur to create the "God-wave". Porto-hive time is much, much, much longer than we think. Just judging by the power and time a god-wave takes can give you an idea of the mass of the planets core.
Heretical nonsense:
Since the hive are creatures of the darkness wouldn't their original planet being a collapsed star carcass captured by a near by star be a fitting beginning for there mistrust, disgust of the light?
The "God-wave" was caused by the syzygy (the aligning of at least some of the 52 moons that orbit Fundament, which causes the ocean to bulge under the alignment, and then when the alignment passes to be released in a giant wave), not tectonic movement

Forgot about that one. LOLOLOL

Lol yeah But that actually got me thinking... The worms are in the center of Fundament, so if the "God-wave" had been caused by tectonics rather than gravity, would the Worms actually have had the ability to cause a tectonic shift that large? Why are the in the center of Fundament? How did the worm that Aurash's dad found end up washing ashore, and how could it still speak while dead? And what power do they have, could they hav caused an earthquake if they wanted to?

I think it's mentioned that the Sky (or one of it's agents) trapped them there. I don't remember the presence of the white worm being explained. Speaking while "dead" is a trait Ahamkara have (and thus Worms would also have since they're either Ahamkara themselves or are related to them), all pieces of gear related to them have flavor text of them speaking to you. They're not shown being able to cause earthquakes by it's quite clearly implied that they caused the Syzygy, which is a far greater demonstration of power.

Alright that all makes sense So if the worms are related to the ahamkara, does that mean there's a connection between them and the 9? There's lore stuff about the 9 and selling the ahamkara armor, and comparisons to the way they control Xur to the way ahamkara armor can influence you

If the Nine really are Ahamkara then ya they'd be related, there's currently no official confirmation of this that I know of though.
