If Phil Spencer's wrong wording in a recent interview are true, and you need a 4k TV for the Scorpio to work, then: 4k TVs range from $700 - $2500 + the Scorpio potentially being $700 = Yeah, you're screwed.
Yeah I do somewhat agree with you here. Everyone at M$ need to sell their souls to the devil to win everyone and make this console reach it's full potential, regardless if you have a 4k TV or not.
With that being said, I don't think I will be getting either of these consoles considering that they aren't mandatory and are in the same console families.

You don't need a 4k tv for the scorpio to work. It will run just fine on a 1080p tv. You need a 4k tv to get the benifits of 4k rez...that's it. I can't belive people don't understand this simple logic
-
>Benefits Also:
If Phil Spencer's wrong wording in a recent interview are true
The amount of people who listened.
-
What were you just saying? Also, nobody can sell a console at $700. It would be effective suicide for said console. A bundle with Oculus may be $700 but on its own? No way.
-
Not everyone uses Amazon, or buys older TVs usually if that's the case.
-
4k TVs range from $700 - $2500
You said this. I proved it wrong. There were no barriers or rules I had to follow to find a 4k tv. That and you completely forgot the fact that nobody can sell a console for more than $650 which is pushing it.
-
Why would anyone? I guess Google's corrupted with its prices. Maybe not. A $600 console is what M$ is targeting towards, guaranteed.

You do realize your source was to an 80 inch, curved, 4k TV screen[u]/u]. People want 4k, that doesn't mean they need 80, curved, inches of it. I'm not sure what the first part of your comment meant. $600 would be the sellable limit. If you can build a gaming PC with a limit of $600 that can run 4k @ 60fps then show me. Until someone does, the Scorpio is, in speculation, priced well.
-
Don't forget that Microsoft does not make tv's but sony sure does.
-
The Scorpio isn't going to be $700. They'd be sending the console right to its death.
-
It is Microsoft were talking about
-
Who knows.

Edited by Vgnut: 6/28/2016 5:54:13 AMMicrosoft isn't releasing a $700 console. The only fathomable scenario where there is a $700 Scorpio is if it's bundled with an Oculus down the road once Oculus costs come way down then their current crazy price.
-
Who knows. The scorpio has one of its intentions to support VR, so maybe.
-
Good thing I already have a 4k tv =D
-
How much did yours cost?

It will work with regular hd tv's, but you won't get the intended 4k experience without a true 4k tv or computer monitor.
