I think this is a great idea. The people always begging for nerfs would have less of a voice. The council can look at the proposition and decide if they want to push it to bungie or not. If something is actually overpowered, better chance of it getting nerfed and community would have more say in HOW it gets nerfed. And same with underpowered stuff getting buffed.

Good point.

But then there not pushing feedback. They are pushing "what they think is best".
-
Feedback is bad lately. Some nerfs people call for are not necessary and they could filter those out.
-
But, then you have a small group deciding what's "important". People will always focus on what's important to them. Then it will end up only what group wants and not what every one wants. That will only divide the player base more. Push people away when content is made to fit what only a few can do.
-
It won't be greedy people. If one is suspected of pushing changes in their favor, they will be kicked out. Only people who favor genuine balance will be allowed.
-
But talks are in a private forum. You can't see them. So the only way to know is if a member comes forward. When this group gets taken over by the few I will bet they are friends and won't "rat" on each other.
-
Maybe we make it so that they can't be friends either. And in a big enough group they will never all be able to benefit from anything. Besides, bungie has the last say regardless. They will still only be passing on suggestions just with a little more credibility.
-
"Can't be friends". Good luck enforcing that. The question is who's suggestions are they passing along? Ours or theres.
-
Both. We give them our suggestions they talk about them and see if it has any reasonable stance and pass it along. Maybe they pass everything along but with their input added. These are things we would have to figure out. And if we decide later that it was a bad idea, we can just disband them completely.
