Did you know Xur was the Ahole that released Skolas from the prison? Just found out a couple of days ago reading the grimoire

He did it under the order of the Nine. They foresaw that Skolas would utilize the Vex tech, and in turn Skolas predicted the arrival of Oryx. By letting Skolas free, he saved us.

Plus it got us to ally with the reef, strengthening both groups. Which is why the reef sacrificed itself to stop oryx

The story behind Skolas and the fallen is kinda fcked up and kinda makes you sympathize with their reason for fighting us. Skolas wasn't actually a bad guy
