Yeah, I kept on mixing up holding up your shield for parry so that made me die. Alot. Did kill him though after getting better weapons. Still I can't parry for crap though

Parrying takes practice but dodging is more reliable. Try to mix the dodging and blocking together.

So far I dodge mostly. Unless it's a new enemy and I need to learn it's attack pattern and openings that is when I block

That's good. Now learn the parry time of your shield and you can parry a attack for a riposte

Is most parry times when they are holding their weapon back and going to hit or on their way to hitting you

Ooh, I thought it was pressing the button during the last few frames of an attack before it hits you
