Damn, when I heard it on the news, I couldn't believe it. He was a very good actor and became the perfect Chekov (next to Walter Koeing of course). I'll will be watching Star Trek Beyond intensely once it releases. RIP

I couldn't have said it better. I hope they made a true sequel and not just box office filler. Even with great directors leading great actors, contracts get carried out reluctantly when something becomes a franchise.
