I always thought it was more akin to a Super Star Destroyer.... But I'm honestly not sure. I may have to do a Nerdy research project on this.

  • Reports say it's the size of earth's moon. People have looked at the spacing of the ship and the rings. Etc.

I never really paid too much attention I guess. Well, Death Star 1 was 120 km around. Death Star 2 was a little bigger, I think around 180 km. Our moon is something like 3,000 km of my memory is correct. So if, like you said, it's described as being the size of our moon, it's even bigger then the Death Stars. That's crazy, I never thought of that.
I'm a huge nerd, I know lol.
• So big and yet so much wasted space and such an inefficient primary weapon. The Death Star's were leagues smaller and could destroy planets in single shots. The Executor Star Dreadnought from Star Wars is 19 kilometers long with a crew of 280,000. 38,000 of which are ground troops. It's armament includes a mixture of standard and heavy turbo laser batteries in groups of 2 up to 8 guns in a battery along with 500 point defense laser batteries, 250 anti capital ship concussion missile launchers with 30 missiles each, 250 heavy Ion Cannons to knock out shields and electrical systems, and 40 tractor beam projectors. It carries a standard fighter group of 144 TIE Interceptors, Defenders, and Bombers. If the ship is fully loaded it's possible to carry up to a thousand fighter and bomber craft if not more. The Dreadnought is imposing simply because of the size. It doesn't carry a large troop contingent or else Hive counterattacks would have forced us off the ship. It doesn't have any alternative weapons systems or else they would be shooting down other Guardians approaching. It's hull is obviously not as indestructible as the opening cinematic would have us believe...Cabal ship and the hull breach... The only visible support craft are Hive cruiser which the Awoken Ketches blasted apart with seeming ease and Tomb shops with minimal offensive capability at best. Really with Oryx himself dead the ship is little more than floating debris or scrap.

That's a good point. The Executor may not be as big as the Oryx's Dreadnought, but it certainly has versatility and options on its side. Though, I don't think the Executor would fair well, based on the opening cinematic for TTK. But I guess once that main gun is destroyed, like you said, that's it Then again, Oryx could just Take the stormtroopers and pilots and what not. That would be an interesting showdown though...Vader vs. Oryx.

  • Yep, it's bigger than a star Dreadnought. Which is 19 km. But not bigger than the Ark.

I just looked it up and the moon's diameter is 3,474 kilometers. That means the moon is 3,474,000 meters. That's funny, I never even put that in perspective.

  • Well I see the death star 2 was 900 KM Then the ship from oblivion is 100 KM The halo rings are 1000 km. That ship it talked about was in meters other killer meters.

Halos newer rings are 10,000 km in diameter not 1000. The OG rings were 30,000 km! Oryx's Dreadnaught is between 3,400 and 3,500 km in length. bigger than both Death Stars but still more than likely (I say this cause there seems to still be a bit of debate on size) smaller than Starkiller Base. But there is NOTHING (that I know of currently) that can measure the size of the Lesser and Greater Arks from Halo. The Lesser Ark alone could fit Earth in that massive hole in it's center!
