Everyone keeps saying 4k isn't possible on consoles but never thought of 4k in the vr headsets themselves.

And? A 4k TV has a larger screen and requires more power than a 5in screen. Plus console graphics power differ greatly from pc's power as gpus in consoles are made for consoles and not for pc's. People never thought crysis could never run on last gen consoles but it did with some graphical changes. It's gonna be same thing this gen that consoles like the xbox scropio will be nearly equal to pc's power of 4k gaming on a single screen.

VR doesn't just generate a signal for that 5" screen, the quality is the same as a bigger screen, then the fact that for VR to even work, it has to generate a totally different environment than standard outputs. It's way more demanding. Who cares about PCs? This whole conversation is about consoles.
