Leia and Han would've known who she was as soon as they saw her.
And as for following the rules of the former Jedi order, that probably didn't seem like such a good idea when you take into consideration what happened to the Jedi Order.

On top of that, in the original trilogy Vader didn't sense Leia. The most powerful Jedi in the universe and he couldn't sense her. There may be a uniqueness to Human Females that are force sensitive, or it could be a VERY powerful Jedi Mind Trick-like technique that clouds that sense.

The first trilogy (I-III) chronologically speaking was Anakin bringing the force back to balance due to the surplus of Jedi. The second trilogy was Anakin bringing the force to balance by destroying the sith, and now this trilogy will see Kylo Ren bring the force to balance with the help of his sister. Did you not see the way Han looks at her throughout the entire film? With sorrow because he knew that she never had a chance at a normal life with parents. I'm telling you, they had to separate the twins because maybe Snoke claimed the girl at birth, sensing that she had an extraordinary connection with the force. He then settles for Ren but he wants Rey. They have to keep it a secret or the consequences could be dire, if Snoke knew that this was the same girl he would send a full on invasion or go himself.

Han looked at Rey like he pitied her because she was hopelessly attached to a desert planet where she had no future, because she was waiting for people who were never coming back. The reason Vader never sensed Leia or Luke is that he had never even met them before, and he had no idea they were his kids because he thought Padmè died in childbirth. So even if he DID sense the Force in Luke and Leia, he probably just assumed they were Force sensitive, not that they were his kids.

They showed her wearing the rebel pilot helmet because she is a Skywalker, being a pilot runs in her blood. They showed her at the helm of the Millennium Falcon because she is following in the footsteps of her father, she was almost his wing-man. It showed Leia embracing her because that is what a mother does when a girl loses her father, whether she knew it or not. They showed Poe attempting to resist the Jedi Mind trick suggesting that they are trained in resisting the force, that is why they conceal their feelings. That's my theory at least.

Actually, J. J. Abrams confirmed that Rey's parents do not appear in The Force Awakens.

Found this, a little clarification. He just meant she didn't know, he was talking to a kid for crying out loud he made a joke.

Well hell... kind of debunks everybody's theories. Why did Kylo Ren flip out when he heard of a girl though? They have to be connected in some way. Bound to each other. I'll hold faith that this was just to throw us off the scent. They are allowed to lie aren't they?

When? Where did he say this? Please give proof of this statement.
