If that's your argument then why change sniper scope range at all, when you can completely remove it for iron or red dot , in real life. Alternativle a 50 caliber bulit will remove limbs not take ypir sheilds. And for God's sake hunters are stabbing you with a knife! Not laying you out on you back with a shoulder charge as you might see in sports, and you don't see those people dead on impact. At most winded. This is a game and every weapon has a field that they dominate, shotguns dominate the side are through shotgun range leaving sidearm underused comparatively.

Shotguns are fine as they are. In real life, shotguns can kill you from much further away than in Destiny. There's absolutely no way in hell that shotguns kill you from 9-10 body lengths away.
