I agree with all of these, but can relate to very few.
You forgot that childhood is considered a disease known as "ADHD," and parents give their kids pills so they don't have to discipline them as much.
I was raised to be independent, was properly disciplined, and encouraged to do the opposite of what you put on your list, which is what more parents should do. They know that they are responsible for me and take extra care to teach me what you are supposed to do, and not what everyone else is doing ATM.
