That's a double edged Dark-Drinker because up till this point, they have made the game enjoyable on past consoles and we're hitting a broad range of audience members with it. While yes the hardware was limiting, it was doable and gamers were promised Destiny for Last Gen up till Destiny 2 (which would have made logical sense) On the other edge, it needed to be done as Destiny was held back by these limitations. Will the sudden drop of Last Gen make the game SO much better? Of course not... That's stupid... Bungie would have to recreate the game in order to do that and that's just bad business. Will it improve what we have? Yes because the small things like multiple textures, better emotes and other flavor things will make the game more enjoyable

They never promised that Destiny would be supported on Legacy Consoles until the sequel, please give me a direct quote. Yes, the removel of will hurt their stock a tiny bit since Legacy Console users are less than 10% of the community as seen in the Activision Spreadsheet leaked in March. So on turns of busniess, its not to bad of an ordeal as theyll be able to do more with Rise of Iron since they arent being held back by the RAM of Legacy Consoles. So it will make sales for current gen consoles hopefully rise and fill that gap. Im sorry that you are unable to buy a current gen console and Destiny with it, but Bungie cannot build their million dollar busniess if their game cannot improve its programming because of Legacy Consoles limits. They also have no need for adding "depressed kid who cant get a job" into their production plan.
