It could be argued that actually, the entire point in the expansion is that because of the sword logic, Oryx [i]must[/i] fight, defeat, and take us, if he is truly to be the most powerful being in the universe, and thus worthy of the title the taken king. He wants us to demonstrate our worth to him, he taunts us onwards throughout the campaign. Laughing as he dies in regicide, knowing that he will face and defeat us in the raid, as that is where he is most powerful, and knowing that we will know how to challenge him for the throne in the way of the hive. When we defeat him, then we don't then take the mantle of the king, Tolland is angry that he has taught us the sword logic, ascended us, and showed us how to challenge the king, and then we just walk away, leaving a power vacuum.
