Specials took over when ToO came out. Stakes were too high...so stay back and snipe. No risk.

Not true. Shotguns and fusions were OP and overused far before trials... Im a day one player

D1Alpha here. My experience is my own, so. NEVER saw snipers in crucible til ToO. Shotguns have never been overused imho.

Never saw snipers till all primary weapons were nerfed to shreads...hand cannons use to 2 hit...pulses use to 2 burst...range was good and gun perks and ammo was way better...when they switched to guns 3 hit or 3 burst n nerfed range accuracy and ammo primary weapons were so underwhelming everyone started playing campy n sniped...they made game from a fast play fun game to a slow paced camp game....

I sniped a lot so maybe you just were playing players with a different preference.

I never saw snipers...they would get 2 pieced by thorn or red death...everyone used shotguns and fusions and were aggressive...

Autos....4 bullets from suros would kill everything so no one used special really
