So, since there's a very low, but very existent death rate that involve zoos, we should shut them down? Should we also shut down all museums? Surely there have been some museum-associated deaths. Should we shut down all airports? There have definitely been airport related deaths. The obvious answer is no. Obviously not. Because these facilities serve a purpose. They're useful. So, just because there are some deaths, we still shouldn't shut them down, because the advantages they provide outweigh the potential harms. The same applies to zoos. They provide entertainment (a necessity for the well being of a society) and an ability to see exotic flora and fauna that would otherwise be impossible.

Swimming pools have a ridiculous amount of accidental death/injury. I haven't heard many complaints, though.
